Choosing an Italian language school means, first of all, understanding who actually issues a recognition and who is just displaying outdated logos. Here is how to find your way.
1. Accreditation is not forever
A recognition may have been granted years ago and later revoked: always ask for the date and the body that issued it, and check that it is still valid today.
2. Tell a language school apart from a university
A private school is one thing; being part of a university recognized by the Italian Ministry (MUR) is another. Accademia di Italiano is part of the Unicollege SSML group, an Italian university recognized by the MUR.
3. Check the certifications the school can prepare you for
A serious school is an official exam center for recognized certifications, for example CELI from the University for Foreigners of Perugia. Here we explain CELI, CILS and PLIDA.
4. Check the partners

5. Be wary of logos with no link
A real body has a public, verifiable register. If a badge is not clickable and verifiable, ask for an explanation.
