Renewing your residence permit? Enrol in a course with us.

Want to stay in Italy a little longer? If you are already here on a residence permit for study purposes (Permesso di Soggiorno per motivi di studio) and your permit is approaching renewal, the Questura wants to see that you have kept studying during your stay, not that you used the permit as a long-term tourist visa. We built this dedicated course path precisely for that moment: documented continuity, attendance certificates suited to the Prefecture, in a Light format that fits your life in Italy. Together we can do it.

Why a dedicated "renewal" course exists

Renewal applications fail most often for one reason: the Questura cannot see continuity of academic activity during the previous permit period. A student who took a single short course six months ago and then nothing is in a weaker position than a student with documented, continuous enrolment up to the renewal date.

The renewal course is a Light-format program (classroom lessons every day plus 2 hours a day of guided, structured individual study) designed to provide exactly that continuity, in a format that is realistic for people already living in Italy and possibly working.

How it works

Weekly commitment in Light format. Daily lessons + 2 hours a day of guided, structured individual study. Documented as a full weekly commitment in formats suited to the Prefecture. Lighter daily schedule, so you can keep working part-time or managing other commitments. Continuous duration up to the renewal date. We build the course so that it runs without interruption up to your renewal appointment date, usually 3, 6 or 12 months, so there is no gap in your study record. Attendance certificates suited to the Prefecture. Attendance recorded every week. End-of-period certificate issued in the format the Questura accepts: total hours attended, level reached, program name, accreditation reference. The same format the Italian Prefectures receive from regulated higher-education institutions. Document review before renewal. Two weeks before your renewal appointment, we review your file with you: course documentation, accommodation, tax code, health coverage, financial means. We flag any point that looks weak and how to strengthen it.

Who it is for

This course is right for you if you are already in Italy on a residence permit for study purposes, need to renew it in the next 1-12 months and want a documented, continuous study program to support the renewal. It is also a sensible option if your previous study activity has been thin and you want to strengthen your file before the appointment.

It is not designed for students applying for a first study visa (for that, use the long-term courses path), and it is not designed for permits in other categories (work, family reunification, asylum: these have different renewal paths and you should consult an immigration lawyer).

An honest caveat

Renewal decisions rest with the Italian Prefecture / Questura, not with us. We provide a course and documentation that support the renewal narrative: we do not represent you legally and we do not guarantee the outcome. In our experience, solid, continuous study documentation noticeably improves outcomes, but the Prefecture decides on the whole file (including accommodation, financial means, criminal-record certificate, and so on).

Where to take it

Available in all four cities. Choose based on where you actually live: the renewal application is submitted to the Questura responsible for your address of residence.
