Italian courses in Florence, on our 17th-century campus
Welcome to Florence! Florence has dozens of Italian schools: almost all of them occupy one or two floors of a building in the tourist heart, with classrooms shared between groups and a turnover of students every week. Our school is different. Accademia di Italiano in Florence is a genuine campus building from the late seventeenth century, the historic home of the Padri Scolopi (the former Istituto Pellegrini), on Via Bolognese, with over 8,000 m² of olive groves and gardens, plus classrooms, a language laboratory, our beloved in-house café Unicafè and a student residence on the top floor. The kind of place where studying Italian seriously becomes a pleasure, not a duty. Lovely, isn't it?
What makes Florence different at Accademia di Italiano
A real campus, not a floor of a building. A seventeenth-century building, former home of the Padri Scolopi, 8,000 m² of gardens with olive trees, a football pitch, plus classrooms, a 36-station language laboratory, the Unicafè, an on-campus student residence. Students arrive in the morning and stay for the whole day. Designed for stays from 4 weeks to 12 months. If you are in Florence for a week, choose a school in Piazza del Duomo. We are built for the student who needs measurable progress: A1 to B1 in twelve weeks, B1 to C1 in a semester, CILS preparation, ready for university enrolment. Study-visa documentation, done properly. Our long-term courses are study-visa eligible. We issue documentation in the format Italian consulates expect, and we support you on the residence permit, tax code and accommodation after arrival, as a documented process and not as an afterthought. Faculty-Led group ready. The U.S. universities that send Faculty-Led groups to Florence work with us because we have the operational solidity: dedicated cohort classrooms, academic documentation ready for approval, on-site student services, on-campus accommodation.

Why staying outside the tourist heart is a deliberate choice
Florence's historic centre is beautiful and full of tourists. It is not where Florentines live and it is not where serious study happens at scale: a 60 m² flat on Via dei Calzaiuoli rented to a different student every six days does not create a learning environment. Our campus on Via Bolognese sits in a green, residential area, with a panoramic view over the historic centre. You have the city as a backdrop and a place to genuinely study at the centre of your day.
